  The views were incredible. Locations was fantastic. Lots to do in Destin. The condo kitchen needed some TLC. The dishwasher was broken when we arrived and smelled to the high heavens. But the maintenance guy was Johnny on the spot and fixed it that day. The elevator was down and we needed to take stairs up and down multiple times from the 7th floor. This was the most frustrating part of our experience here. The beach view though made up for a lot of the inconveniences.

  The access to the beach was nice. The fact that two
  Chairs were included was also nice, but you had to wake up early to ensure you got them especially ones that weren’t four rows back. The kitchen was outdated. The master bathroom had a sliding door to close to get in the shower, that was very difficult to move as well as the pantry closet being difficult to open. The beach view was nice and front desk staff was friendly.

These units are priced accordingly for guests looking for value over luxury, but we’re always working to ensure they are clean, functional, and comfortable.   This was my first time at the Islander Resort. It was wonderful. Location to restaurants, grocery stores, and souvenir stores. The towel service is such a great idea. I was a little concerned not having a washer and dryer in my unit I had never stayed in a condo that didn’t have them. Definitely loved that I didn’t have to spend my vacation washing beach towels and bath towels. Saved me a lot of money of time. I also loved that the supply beach towels. I fly and I don’t have much room for them. The pools were both great! The flat walk to the beach was short. Loved that I didn’t have to do steps if I didn’t want to. The ramp is nice for wagons and coolers.
  The unit 703 was very nice and well decorated. My view of the gulf was amazing. The unit was clean and well stocked with anything I could need. It was very clean. I loved that all units come with an umbrella and 2 chairs.
  Definitely will be coming back and staying on the East side again.

  We got married at the jetty east next door and decided to move over to the Islander for an ocean view. Everything was very nice. The two things I can say that could use improvement are
  1: the couches. They are very very stained and uncomfortable to sit on. We didn’t use them often, but that’s part of the reason why.
  2: the master bed. It is EXTREMELY hard and uncomfortable. I can sleep anywhere, but this bed had us tossing and turning all night.
  All in all, it was a gray stay!

  The Islander is an amazing vacation property! We stayed as a family 4 for a 5 day family reunion. We brought our two teens and they loved the freedom the resort offered them while we loved that we could see them from the balcony pretty much everywhere they went (albeit they were at a distance so they still had their privacy) All of the units were great(clean and orderly) and were conveniently located in the same general area of each other. (We rented 10 rooms.) Do make sure you read the list of items to bring for your stay. Should you need anything, Target is within a 5 minute drive and we went there almost daily. The beach is gorgeous and the umbrella service was fabulous! The pools and grounds were consistently cleaned and sanitized. You could walk along the beach as early and as late as you like. The unit was exactly as expected. The couch was really uncomfortable so we put the couch pillows under the cushions which looked ridiculous, but made the couch perfectly comfortable. The islander was within 20 minutes of the boardwalk and lots of water activities. Plenty of local delicious dining within 15 minutes of the location. Many souvenir shops to grab a little something special. All in all, every member of our family (ages 3 to 72) thoroughly loved the time we spent at the Islander!

  We love staying at the Islander but was a little disappointed with the air conditioning. We had someone come out the second day to fix it, it seemed to start running, then the next day (Monday June 5th), it got up to 78 degrees. Therefore they had to call an AC company to come in and fix it. Our fan didn't work either in the dinner area. Other than that, we had a good experience, just not being uncomfortable and hot while trying to sleep overnight or coming in from the beach to a warm room.
