  We love The Islander!! This is our 3rd time here and every stay is great! They provide us with a good amount of linen. Very well cleaned. Love the views from the balcony. They always have small activities to do. They had movie night this time. The only thing that was a deal breaker was that only one elevator was working, so we had to take the stairs up to the 6th floor. Overall, The Islander always feels like home. Can’t wait to come back next year!

  This condo was nice and nicely decorated. The bed in the Master bedroom was one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept on. My husband normally doesn’t sleep well and he said it was the best week of sleep he has ever had. The only issue with this specific unit was that the drawers were dirty and had not been cleaned out so I didn’t feel comfortable unpacking my clothes.
  
  As far as the Islander resort, overall it was great, however, I would not choose to stay here again with young children, simply due to the beach setup. The Islander secures only a small space on the beach so their chairs are set up in two crowded horseshoe shapes so it is very difficult to watch your children in the water. I would have to get up and go sit in the sand to watch my children in the water. Had I known, I would have brought our own chairs and umbrella and moved to a different location on the beach where I could have a more relaxing view to watch my children enjoy the Gulf.

  We had a very relaxing vacation at the Islander. The property is conveniently located in Destin. It is just a short walk to the beach. The folks in and around the Islander are especially friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and well appointed. If you intend to visit the nearby restaurants, you will need a car. My only complaint about the Islander is that the grills in the common area would be gas instead of charcoal.

  My wife and I enjoyed 6 wonderful weeks at The Islander. Our unit was on the west side offering a great view of the gulf and jetty. We were very pleased with the cleanliness of the unit and amenities. The location of The Islander in Destin was perfect, just a short walk to the beach, 5-10 min. from numerous choices of dinning, shopping, ect. not to mention a half dozen or so golf courses within 10-30 min. The staff was outstanding, super friendly, they made a point of knowing you, using your name making you feel like family. They were very attentive to any issue from replacing a light bulb to defrosting a freezer always with a smile and pleasant demeanor. We plan to go back next year.

  Had a great stay. Condo was just as we expected, and the view was actually better than we were expecting. You can see the ocean and the harbor from the balcony. A quick easy walk to the beach. Alan, the beach service attendant was very friendly and helpful. One elevator was out during our stay which was pretty inconvenient considering we were on the 6th floor, but other than that, no complaints.

  We had a wonderful stay. First time using VRBO. Appreciate the online pics represented exactly how we found the condo. Wonderful view and location. Rental unit was clean, beds and furniture were very comfortable. Almost everything outside of clothing and personal products were provided which saved us a time and money to not have to go shop for the items. Only thing extra I could suggest is a small bottle of dish soap so we could have cleaned up after ourselves better especially in the kitchen.
