The Owners have recently updated the unit with white colonial wood trim, new bedroom carpet , fresh paint, new bed linens, and contemporary artwork. Ceiling fans have been installed in the bedrooms and dining area. Unit # 305 accommodates up to 6 people with a king bed, 32' TV in the master bedroom, 2 twin beds in the guest bedroom 18' TV and a sleeper sofa in the living room with 48' TV. Bedrooms and living room are equipped with flat screen TV/DVD. The unit is non-smoking .The kitchen is updated with new cabinets, counters, plumbing and light fixtures. A new dining room set seats up to 6 people. This unit is centrally located in the building which enhances your view of the beautiful Destin Emerald Coast and the pool/hot tub.

    Overall I was extremely pleased with my stay at the Islander. Our Condo (305) was a bit dated, but for the most part had everything we could need for our stay. Kitchen was well outfitted and there were Plenty of towels. Beds were comfortable. My only complaint was the couch. It had a piece of plywood under the cushions to "firm" it up...which it the point of being hard as a rock.

    The beach was excellent. White sand and emerald water as advertised. An easy walk with all of our gear. Alan, the beach attendant was very friendly and helpful. It was nice having the beach service included so we didn't have to worry about chairs.

    Both pools were warm and clean. The kids loved having that option as we had a couple of cooler days that we didn't want to go out to the beach. Typical issues with people "claiming" chairs early in the morning and not showing up to use them until late afternoon or even at all.

    The grounds were very well kept and maintained. Very pretty. Grilling area at the west side of the building was fantastic.

    My one complaint for the outside/common area was the tennis courts. I might have missed this, but in all the photos I saw, there were these nice tennis courts shown close to the beach and east pool. Those don't belong to the Islander. Their courts are at the front of the West building and did not have tennis nets up during our visit. They did have pickleball nets, but those are quite a bit smaller and not the same. Not a huge deal, but if you're going to say you have tennis courts, have at least one court to use.

    Unit 305 was a lot better than the pictures. Nothing wrong with condition. It felt like a beach condo should feel. Perfect. Everything we needed. Condition of the whole complex was perfect. Desk Staff were wonderful and helpful. I am was ecstatic we refrained from paying a kings ransome for one of the other places that are in a gridlocked area, and gouged patrons for everything. Absolutely loved and appreciated the Islander.

    We all had a great time. This is the second time I have rented 305 always has been clean but this time there was sand all over the loveseat the day we checked in from the previous renters. I did not mention it to the office we just cleaned it ourselves. I do love this unit.

    This is a wonderful room to stay in. A beautiful view and very well taken care of. We go to the Islander twice a year if possible and we never know what room we will get. We loved this condo and hope in the future, if it is available to stay there again. I would highly recommend this Condo to anyone.
