Complimentary Beach Service is provided from March 1 to Oct 31. As a guest at The Islander, you can enjoy (2) complimentary beach chairs and (1) umbrella, each day of your stay! (Valid for stays 14 days or less)

Amenities: At The Islander Resort in Destin, Florida, you can enjoy an active and fun-filled Destin vacation with access to two pools (1-Seasonally Heated), four pickleball courts, two tennis courts, a half basketball court, and two shuffleboard courts. Each unit accommodates a maximum of 6 guests to ensure everyone enjoys their space. An initial supply of paper towels, toiletries, and trash bags is included in the rental. Once these supplies are used, guests will need to restock for the remainder of their stay. Please note Washer & Dryers are not available unless specified!

  We have stayed in Unit 111 for a few years now. The rates went up again this year & no updates in the condo. The counters were NOT clean when we got there, 1 of the chairs was broken on patio, the lamp in living room is wonky and the couch is NOT comfortable. We had 4 people in the condo & had to wash forks every day, as is a minimal amount. on the upside, the decor very nice.

  We have stayed at the Islander EVERY year that we have been to Destin, since 1998 (a few years we missed, due to life happening). This is the 3rd consecutive year that we stayed in 111 & it is AWESOME. High end unit w/super comfortable beds. 1st day issue with sand in the spare bed & on outer deck, but NOT owner's fault. Also, lawncare people did NOT blow off grass on deck or pool area, also NOT owner issue. Front desk is AMAZING!!

  We had a great time at the Islander last week. The location in Destin is the best! We loved being on the first floor where we could walk right out to the pool or beach! The unit was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We loved having the laundry machines in the bathroom! The only negative was that the King mattress in the Master bedroom seemed to sag in the middle. We put some towels under that area, and it slept fine. Maybe its time to replace that mattress? Overall, its a great unit, and we would highly recommend it to others!

  We enjoyed 6 different units for a family reunion. All units had their own personality. Having in-unit laundry was a plus. Decor was nice. The unit was clean, comfortable and sized just right. Wouldn’t have minded a few coffee pouches to have coffee the first day since we had no way to prepare , not knowing what type of coffee maker would be in the unit. This is our fourth stay at the Islander and we will be coming back in the future!

Only complaints were that weren’t any rugs in the condo at all. Would be great to have at least one right inside the glass sliders as you’re coming in from outside. Also, there were not any pot holders in the kitchen so we had to use the kitchen towels.

  We stayed in unit 111 February and March 2021. . We really enjoyed our stay. This unit was very clean and comfortable. I found both beds to be very comfortable with memory foam toppers. I really enjoyed the towel and sheet service they offered. I was happy to have a washer and dryer in this unit. The pools were both heated and very clean. I was surprised that the oval pool was heated as I was told it would not be. The only minor issue I had was there was no rugs at all throughout the whole unit. I really missed having a bathroom, bedroom, and kitchen rug. There really should have been a rug entering from the patio. There was so much grass coming inside that I had to sweep quite often. Other than that I would recommend The Islander and unit 111.

  We have stayed at the Islander for many years and have had a great experience. We have stayed in several different units. Overall Unit 11 was nice with 2 exceptions. 1 - The couch was uncomfortable to sit on, none of the pillows in the pic were there so it was hard to sit back and be comfortable. Not a huge deal. 2 - the master bath was an issue for me, definitely needs an update. The water did not drain properly so you were standing in water up to your ankles the whole time. Also, I noticed there was a lid under the vanity that did not belong to us so made me wonder how well it was cleaned. Those were the only 2 things I wasn't 100 % pleased with. I will definitely be back to the Islander just probably not in this unit. We did like that the 2nd bedroom had a queen bed instead of twins and the mattress toppers helped a lot for comfort.

In an effort to reduce COVID activity, the Islander removed any/all decorative pillows from the furniture and beds and they have now been returned to us. We have just finished remodeling our unit which included a floor to ceiling remodel of the master bath. It now has a beautiful tiled walk in shower, all new fixtures and a washer/dryer for your convenience! Please come back to visit unit 111- you are sure to enjoy all of the extras!   Nice grounds, unit 111 ground floor with easy access to both pools and short walk to the beach ! Condo was nice and comfortable, only flaws was the shower heads in bathroom low pressure and walking on the floors through out the condo barefoot will turn your feet black. Probably needs a good mopping, but I would stay there again!

  Our first time staying at The Islander was pleasant. Unit 111 was clean and comfortable. It is on the West side ground floor and is very convenient to parking, the main desk and the linen exchange area. The laundry was up one level but it was also convenient. The unit’s easy access makes it a good choice for individuals that have mobility issues.
  On the down side, although the unit’s patio is only 22 steps from the west outdoor pool but the pool is not heated so, because we were there during January and February, it was too cold to swim in. However, there was a hot tub that was heated. On the East side, the pool was heated and used extensively by guests but it was not very close to unit 111. Because of it’s ground floor location, unfortunately views of the Gulf and sunrises/sunsets are blocked by other buildings.
  The customer service was outstanding. The employees were polite, friendly and efficient.
  There are literally dozens of restaurants within 15 minutes of The Islander. Many had live music and “happy hours.” Prices seemed quite reasonable for a resort area.
  All in all, we were very satisfied with The Islander and will be returning next year.

  The property was as described and beautiful. It was very well kept and very comfortable. Check in was well organized & efficient. The manager on site was very welcoming and customer service was excellent. We would definitely return to this property. The beach was beautiful and the umbrella set up and chairs was awesome.

  The condo was perfect. It was beautiful, very well kept, and spacious. Unfortunately Hurricane Gordon gave us 2 straight days of rain. Oh well, it happens. Will definitely be back next year!!! The reservationist was Amazing also!!

  We always enjoy our trips to the beach, especially Destin area. Our experience this summer was a good one. My only complaint would be that our room was not as clean as I would Have liked it to be upset n arrival. The floor had sand on it and one of the twin bed sheets had not been changed. I am Assuming housekeeping had been rushed that day, possible that was the problem? The staff at the front desk was very accommodating. The beach chair attendant was extremely polite and helpful.

  We enjoyed our stay here. Was on ground floor behind another building so no view but only took a few minutes to get to beach and being on ground floor is convenient. Close to alot of activities and easy access. Didn't really interact much with management. No washer/dryer in unit but laundry was convenient to us also and they had linen exchange day so that worked. Condo was a nice lay out. Visited State Parks for hiking and trails, Air Force and Navy museums, very nice. alot of restaurants to choose from which was nice

  We just stayed at The Islander for 5 nights and loved it! We plan on coming back again. Unit 111 was decorated nicely & had everything we needed. It is located right by the pool and is a very short walk to the beautiful beach. Everyone we encountered was super friendly & helpful. We had an issue with our wifi & the staff member checked it out thouroughly & gave us a solution that fixed it, We were able to rent a paddleboard & even take a surf lesson right on the beach on a whim (we had some serious waves for a few days). Alan, our beach service dude, was super helpful & just a great guy! We had an awesome experience!

  Great weather and condo!
  Only complaint was there was alot of "standard" scheduled maintenance scheduled for Easter week break, which is a known holiday speing break resort. The maintenance included power washing building, changing out doors, spraying for bugs, etc. things that should be taken care on off weeks. In my opinion.

  Check in was quick and easy. The room was lovely and quiet. The only issue with the room was the dead batteries in the TV remote (and who cares when the ocean is soo close)! The pool temperatures were perfect. Shuffleboard was fun. The beach was so close and not too crowded. The only issue we had was the windy weather, and that definitely could not be controlled by The Islander!
