Islander Condo #119 is our unique Platinum rated Cottage that sleeps up to 6 people. Avoid the main building with this private cottage set among tropical flowers. Enjoy the privacy and convenience of having your own four walls surrounded by lush landscaping with a patio and small fenced yard just steps from the pools and Destin’s world class beach.

This beachy cottage boasts an open concept kitchen/living/dining room with all the comforts of home. Sink with pullout spray faucet and push button disposal, stainless steel side-by-side refrigerator with a water filtration system and in-the-door ice and water dispensers, range with ceramic cook top, dishwasher, and an above-the-range microwave. Gather around the dining room table that seats 6 or relax in the living to watch the 42” TV with digital cable access and a DVD player. There is a queen sleeper sofa available for guests.

The master bedroom boasts a king size bed, ceiling fan and a 32”TV/ DVD Combo. The bathroom has been recently been updated with double sinks, granite countertops and a walk-in shower. The guest bedroom has a king bed, ceiling fan and a 32” TV. The guest bathroom has been updated with new vanity, granite countertops and an updated tub/ shower combo.

There is tile throughout the unit. The pool and Destin's beach are conveniently located outside your 1st floor walk-out patio that is steps away from Destin's Beach.

  This unit is secluded from all of the others and has a private entrance. NO elevators to go up and down I thinks its the best one out of all of them it is very quiet most of the time the only loud noises were when they are picking up the garbage. It is laid out the same as all of the other condos. This is our third time staying at the islander but our first time staying in 119. We had a great time no issues to report. If this one is ever for sale I would purchase it.

  This was the perfect place to stay with kids or without. We didn't have to pack into elevators or climb stairs while lugging beach stuff through condos and hallways. We were able to go right out the back door which was incredible! There were no noisy guests around us and we didn't have to worry about our kids being too loud. When we checked in there were a couple of small issues like clogged drains but maintenance fixed them immediately. I'm already wanting to come back and stay in this cute house again!

  We love staying on this property second year at this resort. Always clean and comfortable . Staff is wonderful and sits at a great location , grounds clean and convenience to pool and beach are great. The only reason rated this unit a 3 for location is the view and sits directly in front of where trash is picked up daily and they show up very early. Besides the one little complaint of that everything else is wonderful and we will definitely keep going every year.

  This unit is amazing. So close to the beach and not in the main building so you don't have any neighbors. It would be really cool if they added some type of way you can lock the patio from the outside so that you can go out that way to the beach. The unit is very spacious and the front desk staff is super nice and accommodating.

  We've stayed at The Islander - Destin property several times and have always had a great experience. This year we booked the cottage (119) due to concerns related to COVID and the additional privacy and space the cottage afforded. It was fantastic! We did miss the ocean view from a higher floor balcony but the patio was beautiful and well landscaped and we still got great ocean breezes. The cottage was very private and to access the beach you just walk out the back gate and access the path to the beach.

  This is our 3rd year in a row renting Room 119 at The Islander. We have always been pleased with our stay and love the cottage. The amenities are great, and we can tell there have been some upgrades the last few years. Although he is separate from The Islander, Alan, the beach chair attendant is amazing and such a pleasure to hang around.
  
  Our only comment would be to have some larger grills on the east side of the property or have a personal grill for the cottage.

  Our vacation stay was wonderful due to the perfect weather and time spent with our family. There was a problem with bugs but the management sprayed for them. The mattress in the first bedroom was a bit lumpy and needs to be replaced. The pull out sofa mattress was very uncomfortable. (Not suitable for an adult to sleeo on)

This unit is a standalone unit and kind of threw me off at first, but when we entered the unit we were pleasanty surprised. My only complaint would be that the card access worked from the back sliding glass door, (which is where you come in from the beach through) Have to walk around through the parking lot to get back in to the unit from the beach.

  beautiful & relaxing...the only thing I would change is taking trash to the chute. I was told that trash chutes were located at the end of all corridors of resort but I could not locate any so it was taken to dumpster on property that I observed on opposite end of parking lot. confusing! trash should not be an issue before checking out in my opinion. let housekeeping deal with it is 1st choice, clearly marked trash chutes throughout 2nd choice.
